Sweet ‘n Salty, our lively a cappella quartet, is deeply grateful to Sing Harmony Canada for awarding us a generous scholarship for professional vocal coaching. This support means more than just financial assistance — it represents a meaningful investment in our musical growth, confidence, and continued love of harmony singing.

Thank you from Toronto Northern Lights.

Thanks to the generous support of Sing Canada Harmony, Seaside A Cappella recently had the privilege of working once again with acclaimed vocal coach Joe Cerutti, from September 12–14, 2025. This weekend of intensive coaching sharpened our vocal skills, deepened our artistry, and energized us as we prepare for future performances and competitions. Our most recent session with Joe before this was in May 2025, and we were thrilled to welcome him back.
At Seaside A Cappella, we recognize the tremendous value of learning from seasoned professionals. Expert coaching challenges us to refine our vocal technique, strengthen our sound, and enhance our overall performance—whether on the competition stage or for our local audiences on Nova Scotia’s South Shore.
Bringing a coach of Joe’s caliber to our community—about 90 minutes from Halifax’s Stanfield International Airport—is no small feat. Coordinating travel, accommodations, and meals for a weekend-long intensive requires both careful planning and financial resources. Thanks to the generosity of Sing Canada Harmony and the dedication of our volunteers, this opportunity became a reality.
We were honoured to welcome Joe Cerutti, a certified Judge and Leadership Engagement Staff Member with the Barbershop Harmony Society. With degrees in Music Education and Choral Conducting, Joe studied under choral greats Ann Howard Jones and Joseph Flummerfelt. Since 2007, he has served as the Artistic Director of the Alexandria Harmonizers, guiding them through high-profile performances at Carnegie Hall, the White House, and international stages, while also coaching ensembles across the globe.
Over three days, Joe worked intensively with our chorus—beginning on Friday evening, September 12th, through a full day of rehearsals and workshops on Saturday, and concluding on Sunday morning, September 14th. His insight and encouragement were transformative for our members and for our Music Director, Judy Comeau, leaving us with renewed focus, confidence, and joy in our singing.
We are profoundly grateful to Sing Canada Harmony for making this extraordinary coaching experience possible. Their support empowers us with valuable tools, fuels our growth, and strengthens our connection to the music we love. Thanks to their generosity, Seaside A Cappella continues to move forward on our journey to become the best chorus we can be.
